ESSENCE Colour Boost Mad About Matte Drugstore Review

Hey Loves!

Took a long needed break of two weeks from blogging as it was the June School Holidays and this Mama needed to rest and recharge! The first half of 2019 was a handful and I definitely needed a break!

I'm back today with a blog post with a product review of the Essence Colour Boost Mad About Matte Liquid Lipsticks in Wanna Play and Magnatic Gloom and here's what I've gotta share about my findings and observations.

Firstly, they are tagged at an affordable price tag of just  SGD 5.50 each! For a liquid lipstick, you can't beat such a price point even with a stick and is the lowest priced liquid lipstick - mind you! It comes in a travel friendly squeeze-y tube with a application tip that almost resembles the number eight!

The formulation is highly pigmented and it delivers opacity in just one single stroke and it dries down to a comfortable natural finish in under two minutes. It's not as drying as the other liquid lipsticks in the market and I could personally get away with at least four to five hours of wear time before I noticed a need for touching-up.

Because of it's non-drying formula, it does have the slightest of transfer. Something I can definitely look past as it's not the sort of gloopy transfer that we've witnessed from the 80's where aunties at Indian functions mark their cups with their lip colour and shapes! Not necessarily attractive though..

The packaging contains about 8ml of it's lip colour that's equivalent to 0.27 fluid ounces. Given the fact that the liquid lipstick is very thin in it's formula, I think I would be able to get away with more and frequent wear.

I really love and am enjoying the range of colors that are offered in this range though I noticed that's frequently out of stock from the Guardian outlets that I step into. I believe there are six shades offered here in Singapore while there are ten listed on Essence's official website.

The first four shades are of a beautiful nude range that has a good undertone mix of peach, neutral, brown and pinks in it before the second last shade that is a peach-like coral and a strawberry tinged deep berry.

I hope you enjoyed today's product review in today's blog post and I shall be back with another post very soon!
