JLo’s Golden Globe Awards 2016 Inspired Makeup Look

JLo’s Golden Globe Awards 2016 Inspired Makeup Look

Can we just take a minute and marvel at this woman! At 46, she still looks amazing with her killer body and she blew me away in her beautiful mustard-y yellow gown and her makeup.. Arrghh, on fleek!!

Mary Phillips did such an awesome job on making her look way much younger than before.. It always amuses me how they make celebrities glow with such radiance and beaming with health. These makeup artistes are such a talented pool of rare people and we actually get to see the celebrities rather than piles of cake makeup. Thorough blending and correct shades of undertones, they really do know their stuff well!!

Back to more oogling at JLo! Her makeup was so gorgeous and I could not resist attempting to recreate this look. JLo makes me want to attend an awards show too (atleast, in my mind) With nowhere to go on a Wednesday afternoon, I played around with my makeup collection and came up with my inspired recreation on her Beautiful Bronzy Glowy Look, I hope you enjoy and let’s get started.

Eyes:

Urban Decay Primer Potion (Eden) - A good base extends the longevity of the eye colors placed and prevents creasing

Morphe 35W

2nd shade from the top as an overall sweep of colour from the lashline to the browbone to set the eyeshadow primer

3rd shade from the top slightly above the crease for a tiny bit of crease definition (I have hooded eyelids)

4th shade – a rich sunset orange shade with a smaller brush, sweeping it from the outer corners to the inner eye in small circular motions forming almost like a straight line across the crease

Maybelline, New York The Nudes Palette - 4th shade from the top row to define the lower lash line and connecting to the tear duct highlight colour

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal – I packed this shade on to the brow bone and tear duct area to get maximum pigment

Revlon Highlighting Palette in Peach Glow – I took the second shade from this shimmer palette being the close shade I had to JLo’s lid color. A very light gold with a tinge of green

Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eyeliner (Stingray) – To tight line my upper lash line giving the upper lash line and fullness

Rimmel London Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal 005 Nude - to open up the eyes, making it appear wide and doll-eyed

Maybelline New York Hyper sharp Liner 0.01mm – With this felt-tip eyeliner, I drew a very thin line close to my lashes, as JLo looked almost like she had no liner on

Maybelline New York Rocket Volum’ Express - For the bronzy glowy statement eyes like hers, I gave a coat of mascara to my top and bottom lashes

Face:

Maybelline New York Pore Eraser – To close out enlarged pores around the nose, inner cheeks and forehead

Loreal True Match Super-Blendable Liquid Foundation (G4 Golden Beige) - This is a medium to full coverage foundation, I gave myself two to three sheer layers on the skin as I did want my skin to peek through

L.A.Girl Pro. Conceal HD-High Definition Concealer (GC976 Pure Beige) - This concealer works great for everyday wear, to cancel out the under eye darkness and conceal any redness and hyper-pigmentation around the nose and mouth area

Maybelline New York Fit Me Concealer (25 Medium) - I wanted a highlighted look just like JLo and I love this product’s blending ability, good for highlighting the high points on the face but sheer in coverage

theBalm’s Bahama Mama Bronzer – For a bronzy look, I swept this bronzer on the parameters of the face to liven up my complexion

Australis AC ON Tour Highlighting & Contouring Kit – Contouring compliments the highlight placed earlier and I used the middle shade, second row on the bottom with a small elf blush for precise placement making sure to blend in to avoid harsh edges. (think zebra stripes, yikes!)

Wet N Wild Coloricon Blush (Heather Silk) – Jlo’s makeup artiste used Loreal’s True Match Blush in Spice Plum. This is my only darkest blush shade in my collection; it looked alright on my yellow toned complexion

Revlon Highlighting Palette in Peach Glow – For a glowing appearance like JLo’s, highlight has got to be her best friend! I used this shimmer palette once again as I felt, this tied in well with the overall warm makeup look

Lips:

NYX Lip Liner (Plum) - To outline the lips

Gerard Cosmetics Lipstick (Nude) - To make the inner lips appear fuller

Colorpop Lippie Stix (Bichette) - Dabbing this color layer by layer to achieve three dimensional look but in the makeup tutorial, my camera picked this color way much lighter than it actually was.

JLo's makeup artiste had used 3 shades of Loreal Pro Matte Gloss on her, a cocktail of deep purple-y plum, dark maroon and a nude in the mix to achieve the luscious full lips. However, these fabulous lip products have not reached our Singapore shores yet:(

These are a definite list of many products for this makeup tutorial but it was so much fun having an opportunity sitting with my makeup stash, swatching colors on and seeing the best combinations for eyes, lips, face and well, the works that resembles the most likeliest to the beautiful look JLo had.. Again, she looked Breathtaking and Beautiful!!
