Tatcha One Step Camellia Cleansing Oil is a new discovery for me, I have stayed away from this type of oil cleanser perhaps due to my sometimes sensitized, acne prone skin. I wouldn't knowingly want to cause unwanted reaction to my skin yet being a Beauty Junkie, I was sort of getting bored with my regular makeup removing routine.
Plus, this product claims to be a one step solution, I see that I may benefit from a random evening when I am exhausted and removing my makeup is such a chore. I by practice usually do not use waterproof eye make-up as it's a real pesky job to keep going back to the eyes to remove lurking eyelash glue, eyeliner and mascara goop that goes often undetected till the next morning! Not a fan of this situation.
So I thought I will give it a shot, I was in for a pleasant surprise. It was love at first try, the texture was surprising thin and application on the skin felt light and easy to work with. It took one pump for the face and another pump to gently glide across the eyelids and lash lines. Did I also include that it took less than four to five whole minutes for the entire makeup to breakdown?
Where were you all this while, Tatcha One Step Camellia Cleansing Oil? I particularly reached for this one step cleanser for days when my skin felt dry earlier during the day upon makeup application. For some reason, I thought it'll be thick in viscosity like an olive oil! Olive oil and oily skin is a no no. This oil however is said to be suitable for all skin types and ages!
This oil though on the other hand, I see how the steep price tag comes into play. It goes into the easy travel friendly bottle with a pump dispenser, one pump is enough for a minimal makeup face and two pumps for a full-on glam face.
It emulsifies once the oil comes into contact with water and it does not stain the wash basin, a huge plus and I also did not notice much oil residue from this cleanser. You do have to work this cleansing oil with dry hands onto your dry face for it to effectively work and breakdown all of the makeup.
Post washing, my face does not feel overtly dry or red. For some reason, my skin feels calm, clean and ready to layer my night time skin care products. This cleansing oil formulation has a mix of camellia and rice bran, without minerals and synthetic oils. Tatcha's signature anti-oxidant complex Hadasei-3 is also a key ingredient (a mix of algae, rice and green tea, a Japanese diet staple)
This cleansing oil is said to tackle dryness and reduce fine lines while cleansing without stripping the skin of it's natural moisture. It is an excellent source of nourishing vitamins and omega oils removing stubborn waterproof makeup leaving silky soft skin behind!
Definitely, a pricey cleansing oil however I quite like and reserve it for days when I want to feel bouge-y and luxurious! Self-care is important, one of the most important lessons learnt from 2020 hence you should take it seriously too!
I hope you enjoyed today's product review on Tatcha One Step Camellia Cleansing Oil I shall catch you very soon!
Love,
