NEUTROGENA HYDRO BOOST WATER GEL LOTION SUNSCREEN REVIEW

Sunscreen and similar sun protection factor serving products are either a hard miss, a hit is not often. The makeup or simply put the layering of sun protection often hinders the skin base products like the eye cream, facial essence, serum and moisturizer. This is especially so for oily and oilier skin types like mine. For the longest time, I had stuck to one SPF until I ran out of it.

I safely want to say that the sun protections have had a revamped and they come with a good variety of textures addressing many skin concerns plus the sun protection aspect of this category. Let's remember that we are staying clear of ashy looking skin and that terrible ghostly white cast.

That's when I remembered using the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel Lotion Sunscreen, Broad Spectrum SPF 50 briefly during our weekend getaway across the Causeway. It was intended to be a vacation ready skin base and I reached for mini and travel sized products, not my usual skin care favourites. I also clumsily did not pay much attention to it, as well.

It has been well over two months and my skin has not broke out from using this sun protection. Hence, the reason for this review that made it's way much later than usual. I can't believe that I had this amazing SPF product with me, all this while.

Firstly, Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel Lotion Sunscreen, Broad Spectrum SPF 50 offers a sun protection of broad spectrum of SPF 50 with Helioplex. I squeeze an amount slightly bigger than a pea size, it feels like a thick cream at first. It quickly thins down into a water like consistency with a good feel of slip and spread. It's easy to get onto the face in under two minutes.

The right amount of daily serving of SPF is said to be of two fingers in length (think long strips of toothpaste on your pointy and middle fingers for the face) I personally feel that this is more than I could handle on my face hence I spread onto my décolleté, neck, behind my neck and ears. I don't feel the weight of the SPF worn, this way.

If you're a dry skin girl, you'll love the glow-y finish of this sunscreen! Since I am of an oily skin type, I glow naturally past the three pm mark all days.. I can make do with this glowy finish earlier in the morning. This SPF does tend to have a better grip of makeup base now that I am on my Fenty Beauty Powder Foundation phase. I have not noticed a visible white cast on me and this makeup combo offers hydration with an invisible finish, on the skin.

It stays put under makeup well too and it almost behaves like a primer with a slightly gloss like finish, not tacky. I am surprised that I do enjoy this product, the face base does not crease much around my smile lines probably due to this SPF beneath it.

It feels weightless and it does not have the usual SPF scent, a huge plus. This water gel lotion is also water-resistant without feeling heavy on the skin! A win for me and is a hit! The weather is slowly starting to warm up in Singapore and I feel it is time for a great SPF product like Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel Lotion Sunscreen, Broad Spectrum SPF 50
