How to be Productive | Girlfriends' Guide Series | TheLeiaV


Hello, my Loves!! Today is going to be the fourth installment of my Girlfriends' Guide Series and it's about How to Get Started to becoming Productive.

The idea behind this series was triggered from many queries in my inbox from you, guys!! Pertaining to many topics other than Beauty and to address as many as I could, I started this Girlfriends' Guide Series. I hope this episode serves to be useful to you, so let's dive in.

If you're someone who knows of someone else who manages to get many things done in a 24hr period, and often wonder how it's possible. This is where I come in and share my tried and tested techniques to jump start your productivity level.

First Tip:


This may sound odd to some but it works for me. What is it? Grabbing a tall cup of water at room temperature and having breakfast as soon as within an hour of waking up.

An in between meals, I have something to snack on every two to two and a half-hour time check. I have noticed a huge difference in my energy levels, with this practice I don't get hit by the mid-morning (10am - 11am), mid-afternoon (2pm - 4pm) energy dips.

When I am half-filled, I have more energy to get around to do the things on my to-do list. Do give it a go.


Second Tip:


Planning ahead. As I work on today, I make sure to disseminate work for tomorrow and the day after. This way, I don't feel swamped with a whole load of tasks.

Lack of sleep could sometimes come from attempting to cram everything in a day's worth of work and it's not healthy too.

By planning ahead, it allows me pockets of time throughout the day should I feel like I'd like a break. I could bake pastries, cakes and biscuits for tea if I want to because I had managed to cross the top three important things on my list earlier. This frees time for what's most important, me and my family. Or maybe, sneak in a power nap if I need one without having to compromise on a pending task.

How do we achieve this? Ideally, is to be sure and be clear on the tasks needing immediate attention. Tasks requiring re-adjusting, shuffling about or clearing over a period of time. Leisurely activities like catching a movie, window shopping and online browsing can be done at your free time when you're not doing needed activities.


Tip Three:


I am usually most productive after lunch and before tea. During this time, I don't check my phone or check my inbox and simply concentrate on the next top three tasks that needs to be crossed off my list.

Not having distractions is a huge deal breaker for decreasing productivity. This is the same reason why I do not attempt to film when my munchkin is around. No distraction, increased focus in shorter time. Easy formula.


Tip Four:


Taking regular breaks eases tension, reduces stress and good for our eyes too. Give yourselves a nice cat stretch after each hour, go for a walk, mix a hot drink. I like taking breaks every now and then because I like returning back with renewed energy. 

Some days, I treat myself to a comedy sit-com on Comedy Central. It works for me and when it's five o'clock, I still log off my pc feeling fresh.



Tip Five:


It's taking the step to actively becoming Productive. Perhaps, write a productivity creed to help centre your focus. It's all about making the mental switch to becoming better at what you already do. You hold the key, make the decision now and stick to it for at least twenty one days to see a difference on how you feel and perform.
