Hey, my Loves!!
Today, I want to share with you how we can achieve a
yearlong youthful and glowy look.. Since it’s the 3rd week of
January, we’re settled for what’s ahead of us in the next few months. How about
considering revamping our makeup look too?
Starting with sun protection, it’s not just an essential but
necessity! Sun exposure can age our skin rapidly hence pick one that provides
the coverage needed, depending on your daily activity under the sun.
A primer with a pink pearlescent base works well to brighten
areas on the face, think of it as a subtle highlighted glow. Like you’re
glowing from within, who wouldn’t want that?
A medium to high coverage bb cream is ideal for everyday
use, my current favourite bb cream for the past 1.1/2-2 years has been the
Missha BB Cream SPF42 PA+++, amazing buildable coverage, lightweight on the
skin, heals blemishes while evening out the overall skin tone. Absolute Love!!
To lightly correct and conceal the visible pesky “that time
of the month” blemishes, under eye circles and hormonal discoloration and
redness around the nose and mouth, a lightweight high coverage liquid concealer
comes to my rescue. Building thin layers and blending it well with a damp
beauty sponge of your choice, gives a natural finish.
Building thin layers prevents heavy creasing on areas such
as the fine lines, wrinkles around the eye contours and laugh lines around the
mouth area. Liquid concealers lend a skin like finish on the skin as opposed to
the cream concealers due to their heavier density in formulation and can tend
to look waxy after a few hours of wear and possibly exaggerate skin concerns.
To lightly set the under eyes and matte down the T-zone
areas, opt for a translucent powder to prevent cakey product overload. In the
warmer months to come, go with a light hand to set the overall face base and lock
it with a makeup setting spray. If you’re of an oily skin type, blot the excess
oil off with a blotting sheet and hydrate the skin with a facial mist, whenever
necessary.
For busy women, there isn’t much time in the mornings. For a
neutral everyday look, go for a light wash of bronzy shimmery shade for an
overall eyelid colour. Try a light brown liner for the usual black as it looks
less harsh and allows ample practice for winging out eyeliners.
If there isn’t time for either of these two products, load
up on waterproof mascara onto the top and bottom lashes. This gives the eyes an
instant eye lift!
For well-hydrated and plump lips, go for a pink based nudes
or mauves instead. A slight shimmer finish is even better; let the liquid
lipsticks have their break. I definitely would not want crusty lips for the
hotter days.
To maintain this look throughout the day, keep oil blotting sheets nearby to blot the shine off the T-zone and touch on powder only when it's necessary. Powder can tend to take the glow away, use it sparingly if you must!
Or how about a high shine intense gloss, that plumps up the lips in seconds with a 3 dimensional intense shine, go for it! Pick a shade that flatters your undertone while brightening up the complexion!!
Let’s not forget about our hands that do so many things for
us. Show some love, slap on some hand-cream, keep them well hydrated and
they’ll thank you for it. Gorgeous nail art looks fabulous on supple youthful
hands.
