YouTube Filming Routine

Hey, what's up Loves! This blog post is about my YouTube Filming Routine with answers to frequently asked questions about my filming routine for my YouTube videos.

I am going to share how my the prep, actual work and post work on a typical work day looks like. Now, please bear in mind that I am a full-time home maker and making videos for my YouTube Channel is my interest (hobby, if you'd like to call it)

I have a video up on my YouTube Channel, already. If you'd like to watch, click here

I'd rather be busy doing something of my interest than not have anything to do, at all. An empty mind leads to more emptiness, I'd rather fill it with great memories and activities that enrich me. My YouTube Channel is like my other baby, built from scratch in early April 2013 and I love seeing it become this Beautiful Community filled with delightful positivity, love and togetherness.

My first proper camera came along when I got through to the National Finals in a Beauty Campaign in 2015 maybe. Till then, I was filming on either my husband's or my Iphone. The battery drained away with incoming calls, text messages and the video functions and it was a challenge when it was powering off due to it's low battery status.

My first camera was gifted to me, and I am still using it. It's the Panasonic GF7 and I use the lens kit that came with the camera body, it's lens are of 18mm-32mm and it works just fine. Now, it's giving way slowly as the battery life is not as amazing as before. It worked pretty well for almost over a 1,000 videos filmed on it (since 2015 till present)

My camera tripod was a pocket friendly purchase from CashConverters, at S$ 12! Yes, and it still works fine. Before the tripod, it used to be a series of books stacked up to form a tall tower and I remember the struggle to not topple it down.

My recent gifts were two LED panel lights, one ring light in 2017 and a fold-able table, this year. The fold-able table was from Qoo10, under S$ 50! Since, I don't have the space for a semi-permanent studio set-up, my kid is still small and curious (that could quickly manifold into disasters, of all sorts) When I am not filming, I have the the equipment packed and stored away. And these are just the physical tech equipment.

Before, I film.. Earlier in the day, I charge up my equipment and my spare batteries. I make sure that my house is swept and mopped, food is cooked for my family. I start clearing out my makeup collection, sieve through the items needed for the content, clean them, sanitize them, sharpen eye and lip pencils and have them all laid down and ready for use. I try to ensure that I have my hair washed, styled (if there's time), pick out my clothes for the content and wait.. Once, my kid is at school.. I start filming my content and attempt to complete it in four hours.

Yes, quite a fair bit of work but it excites me! For the second half of my work routine, I am amidst of prep and will update you soon in another blog post, soon!

Love,
